Dwayne Kilvington
Multi-instrumentalist/ Producer

Dwayne Kilvington is a producer and multi-instrumentalist from Leeds. He started making beats at 11 on his mum’s computer and got his first taste of live music at Interplay Theatre’s youth group. After a stint at Leeds College of Music, he found his way into jazz, klezmer and beat-making through jamming with local musicians and bands like Tantz.
Since moving to London, he’s become a core part of the UK jazz and experimental scenes, co-founding Steam Down, touring with artists like Nightmares on Wax, Nubya Garcia, Wiyaala and Sampa The Great, and collaborating with I.G Culture as Musical Director on Earthbound by LCSM. He’s also directed live shows for Eddie Chacon across the UK and Europe.
His current projects include The General Elation Soundsystem with Brother Portrait and Nadeem Din-Gabisi, work with Nala Sinephro (Warp), synth bass for ONIPA, and a duo with Edward Hick (Sons of Kemet). His production credits span Nubiyan Twist, Ego Ella May, Mo Kolours, Tess Hirst and Celeste, with remix work for Afriquoi, Bryony Jarmon-Pinto and more. Dwayen has also written music for Red Bull’s breakdancing campaign, a global IBM ad and an upcoming documentary on fashion icon Zandra Rhodes.
